Collegiate decals on Fiesta dinnerware is the brain child of Patrica Antion.  After taking the position of maganger at the West Virginia University (WVU) hospital, she realized the gift shop needed something unique to drive outside traffic into the shop. “We needed to become a destination shop to bring in customers beyond employees, patients, and their visitors,” Pat said.  While on vacation it hit her.  “I loved Fiesta ware, it was a West Virginia company, and they had perfect colors! So, I started sketching ideas and then having my son digitally image my sketches.  This in my mind was the perfect marriage.”

After seeing the success of the WVU Fiesta, Patrica’s husband, Bob, thought if other colleges had a chance to be as successful with their own line of Collegiate dinnerware as they were having with the WVU, certainly they would want the opportunity as well.  So, Touchdown Tableware reached out, offering to help them like they had for the Hospital giftshop, with creation and online sales.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Patricia Antion.  She was always willing to explain things whenever we needed and shared all her documentation with us.  We could not have done this section without her help and guidance.

  • The University of California – Berkeley was considered in 2008.
  • The illustration to the left is an HLC rendition of the bread tray (0412).
  • I’ve only been able to find 3 HLC renditions, bread tray (0421), jumbo mug (0149) and medium oval platter (0457).
  • The illustration to the right is Touchdown Tableware’s rendition for the complete set of what they wanted to produce.
