- The main group illustration (above) shows how the four different Bistro coupe bowls compare in size. From top to bottom is the small Bistro coupe bowl, medium Bistro coupe bowl, large Bistro coupe bowl and extra-large Bistro coupe bowl.
- With the introduction of Butterscotch in 2020 – FTC stopped producing this bowl in Shamrock and Ivory.
- In 2021 FTC added to the “not being produced in” glazes of Cobalt Blue and Slate.
- In 2026 FTC added to the “not being produced in” glazes of Daffodil, Meadow and Peony.

- It wasn’t by accident that the large and medium Bistro bowls were added to the Fiesta® line. According to Dave Conley, the former director of sales and marketing at Homer Laughlin China Company, the Bistro bowls were originally part of the HLC’s restaurant ware division. He stated to the conference attendees at the 2014 HLCCA conference, “restaurants wanted them in Fiesta® colors … if they made them for food service, they’ll make them for the retail line, too.” (“Dave says … Answers and News from HLC” by Kathy Holley The Dish Vol 17 No. 1 – 2014 page 14).

- The medium Bistro bowl was introduced through Macy’s department stores; however, it was not exclusive to them.

Vintage – individual salad bowl measures 7-5/8″ diameter x 2-3/8″ height
Vintage individual salad bowl was produced in the following colors: Yellow, Red, Medium Green and Turquoise.
- The Bistro bowl is like the Vintage individual salad bowl. However, you will notice in the illustration to the left, the Vintage individual salad (right) has more rings on the inside edge and inside center circle than the Post 86 Bistro bowl (left.)
- The illustration to the right shows the Vintage individual salad bowl (left) has an incised backstamp where the Post 86 medium Bistro coupe bowl (right) has an embossed style.
- You can also see that both bowls have a dry foot (unglazed).

- Don’t get the small Bistro coupe bowl and the 6” medium footed / rice bowl mixed up. As illustrated to the right, the rice bowl (left) has a more prominent foot than the small Bistro (right).
- You will notice in this nesting view (left), how the small Bistro coupe bowl sits higher than the other Bistro coupe bowls.
- The small Bistro coupe bowl along with the 7-1/4” and 10-1/2” Bistro coupe plates were originally released as part of the 3-piece Bistro Coupe set (Set Item #1482).
- In 2017, all three pieces became available to buy individually through HLC retail outlets and independent retailers.
- Foundry was added to the line in 2017.
