  • In 1996 the Homer Laughlin China Company celebrated their 60th anniversary of producing Fiesta®
  • They produced several items to celebrate the occasion.

  • Yellow 5 piece beverage sets were planned to be sold through JC Penney’s however, it looks like that color never went into production.

  • These were sold through the Fiesta® Club of America, Inc. organization.
  • This design was applied to White (4065), Turquoise (4067), Yellow and Persimmon (still researching).  
  • The illustration to the right was a test piece. The Persimmon colored decal was applied to a Cobalt Blue mug.  Turquoise, Periwinkle and Persimmon are also known to exist with this Persimmon decal.

  • American Home Furnishings teamed up with HLC and on the reverse side of the Turquoise 60th anniversary mugs had their decal applied showcasing their 60th anniversary as illustrated on either side.

  • This linen 1996 calendar was also sold during the 60th anniversary time period.  It measured approximately 17″ x 25″. 
  • It was sold at the factory retail outlet store.  We are still researching to see if it was sold anywhere else.

Fun Fact –

  • This Black classic rim salad plate (0464) with the 60th Anniversary design was purchased at an antique store in Ohio.  We are still researching this piece to find out additional information.

  • This Apricot carafe (0448) and tumbler (0446) set was purchased at an auction.  Note in the illustration to the right that the tumblers have the 60th anniversary ink backstamp.

  • In celebration of Fiesta’s® 60th anniversary, China Specialties also offered the large disc pitcher (0484) that is illustrated to the right. 
  • It’s called Circa 36 and showcases vintage Fiesta® items in vintage Fiesta® colors.

Fun Fact –

  • In 1986, HLC produced for China Specialties the 50th anniversary mugs using HLC’s York shape mug, not Fiesta®.  
  • HLC started production on these mugs prior to the reintroduction of Fiesta®.
  • This 10-mug set showcased Fiesta® vintage colors: Red, Cobalt, Light Green, Yellow, Turquoise, Rose, Gray, Forest Green, Chartreuse and Medium Green.
  • “The certificate for the mug set states “The decoration includes the Dancing Fiesta Senorita. Homer Laughlin’s copyrighted logo for Fiesta used in advertising since the 1930”.
