Watermelon – Rose – 2002

Pattern No. – researching

  • Introduced: 2002
  • Discontinued: 2005
  • This pattern was an exclusive to the Betty Crocker™ catalog. 
  • When the pattern was released in 2002 it was applied to Rose Fiesta® and can be found in the following shapes:  dinner plate (0466), luncheon plate (0465),  ring handle mug (0453), small cereal bowl (0460), deep oval bowl (0409), and 15″ baking/pizza tray (0505).
  • In 2004 the following pieces were added to the line: gusto bowl (0723), medium oval platter (0457), and fruit bowl (0459).
  • Colors in this pattern are: Shamrock and Black.

Fun Fact – 

Betty Crocker™ called the 15″ baking/pizza tray an “All Purpose Platter” as illustrated in the Betty Crocker™ ad to the left. 

Watermelon – Scarlet – 2007

Pattern No. – 5809

  • Introduced: 2007
  • Discontinued 2008
  • This pattern was an exclusive to JC Penney’s and HLC retail outlet stores.
  • The pattern was applied to Scarlet Fiesta® and can be found in the following shapes: luncheon plate (0465) and large oval platter (0458).
  • Colors in this pattern are: Black and Evergreen

Watermelon – Peony – 2023

Pattern No. – 42559

  • Introduced 2023
  • Discontinued  ?????
  • This pattern is an exclusive to the FTCCO organization.
  • When this pattern was released in 2023 it was applied to Peony Fiesta® and can be found in the following pieces:  mini pitcher (0475), magnet (1533), shot glass (1534), teapot (1612), tapered mug (1475), coaster (1607), ramekin (0568) and luncheon plate (0465).
  • In 2024 the following pieces were added to the line:  spoon rest (0439),  jam jar (0969) and pedestal cake plate (1606).
  • Colors in this pattern are: Black and Shamrock.

  • In the above illustration are both the Rose (bottom shelf) and Peony (top shelf) Watermelon designs.  Notice how the designs differ.
  • The differences are noted in the illustrations on either side of this text.  
  • Rose which is illustrated to the left the seeds are not uniform around the center rings of the plate.   
  • Peony which is illustrated to the right the seeds are all uniform around the center rings of the plate.

Fun Fact –

  • The FTCCO auctioned three Peony Watermelon items in 2023.  There were two older version teapots (0496) and one 2-cup teapot (0764).  
  • One of the large teapots sold for $951.00 and the 2-cup teapot sold for $920.00.
