It was NOT produced in Foundry.

  • Juniper medium vases were sold exclusively at May Department stores.
  • Sapphire medium vases were originally sold exclusively through Bloomingdale’s. However, Dishes Delmar brought out the entire production of vases from Bloomingdale’s.
  • HLC took White, Black and Plum medium vases out of the production line in December 2013.
  • Shamrock and Claret were added to the out of production list in April 2017, with Sage following in March 2018.
  • Ivory and Slate were added in December 2018.
  • With the introduction of Butterscotch in 2020 – FTC added Shamrock to the out of production line up.
  • With the introduction of Twilight in 2021 – FTC added Cobalt Blue to the out of production line up. 
  • With the introduction of Peony in 2022 – FTC added Mulberry to the out of production line up.
  • In the 8-8-2023 shape sheet FTC notes that this vase would only be produced in the following colors – White, Turquoise, Scarlet, Lapis, Daffodil, Peony, and Jade.
  • With the introduction of Sky in 2024, it was added to the production line up making 8 colors available.

 

 

  • The original production number for the medium vase was 0783. It was later changed to 0491.
  • With the introduction of Pearl Gray (1999), to help with identifying Post 86 pieces from similar Vintage Fiesta® items, HLC added an embossed “H” as part of the backstamp to certain items.
  • Colors released prior to Pearl Gray (1999) may or may not have the embossed “H” as part of the backstamp. (These would only be the colors that were in production at the time Pearl Gray was introduced.)
  • In the illustration to the right, the Rose vase on the left was produced before Pearl Gray and does not have the embossed “H”. The Rose vase on the right was produced after the introduction of Pearl Gray and has the embossed “H”.
  • Notice in the illustration how the early version of Rose (left) is much lighter in color than the later version (right) of Rose.
  • Crystalline pieces were donated to the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association for their June 17, 2001 auction.
  • According to the Certificate of Authenticity that was issued for each piece, these donated pieces were the “remaining pieces from the glaze experiments that were conducted in the Homer Laughlin laboratory in early 2001”.
  • Two Blue Crystalline and two Brown Crystalline glazed medium vases were donated.

  • Juniper small vases were sold exclusively through Bloomingdale stores during the fourth quarter of 2000.
  • Small vases in Marigold, Paprika, Flamingo, Lapis, Poppy, Slate, Sage, Claret, Daffodil and Mulberry, Meadow, Butterscotch, Twilight, Peony, Jade and Sky were produced in limited quantities and sold through HLC/FTC’s retail outlet stores and website.
  • Lilac, Sapphire and Chartreuse small vases are known to exist.

Fun Fact – Fiesta® Fake – 

  • In the early 2000’s, JoAnn Fabrics had look alike vases made in pink, blue and light purple colors. These vases were very close in size and style of the Fiesta® small vase. HLC filed legal action to stop the sale of these vases. The illustration to the left shows the JoAnn Fabrics vase in the center of the small vase (left) and medium vase (right).

 

  • The JoAnn Fabrics vase base stated “For Decoration Only” as shown in the illustration to the right.
