- There are sauceboats that are glazed Turquoise on the outside and Periwinkle Blue on the inside, as shown in the illustration to the right. (Photo courtesy of Gina Hurley)
- There are also sauceboats that were glazed Lemongrass on the inside and Sunflower on the outside. These were sold at Flatwood’s Everything Fiesta® outlet store.
- Sauceboats were sold with an underplate which was a 9” oval platter as illustrated to the left. (item number 0850 for the set)
- Sapphire sauceboats are known to exist as illustrated to the right. This sauceboat sold for $900.00 + buyers premium at Strawser Auctions in June 2024. (Photo courtesy of Strawser Auctions)
- In the illustration to the left, you can sometimes tell the difference between Vintage (left) and Post 86 (right) if you look where the handles attach to the body. The Vintage will not have the dimple that a Post 86 sauceboat will have. However, when I looked at a Amberstone/Casualstone/Fiesta® Ironstone (center) sauceboat it has a slight dimple, but not as pronounced as the Post 86 version. (Amberstone not shown)
- With the introduction of Pearl Gray (1999), to help with identifying Post 86 pieces from similar Vintage Fiesta® items, HLC added an embossed “H” as part of the backstamp to certain items. Colors released prior to Pearl Gray (1999) may or may not have the embossed “H” as part of the backstamp. (These would only be the colors that were in production at the time Pearl Gray was introduced.)
- The illustration to the right shows the following – Backstamps: Vintage (center), Post 86 no “H” (front left), Post 86 with “H” (front right)
- In the mid to late 1990’s, HLC wanted to expand the Fiesta® brand, so they contracted with outside companies to produce official Fiesta® licensed products.
- Sometime in the late 1990’s to early 2000’s Metro Marketing, one of these licensees manufactured a thermal gravy server. They were produced in the following colors: Cobalt Blue, Yellow, Turquoise, Periwinkle Blue, Sea Mist Green, Persimmon, Chartreuse, Pearl Gray, and Shamrock (shown).
