  • January 2021, FTC announced, “A cake stand has been requested by customers for years, and this seems the perfect year to grant the request. The Anniversary Cake Stand will only be made in Twilight and will come with a special backstamp.”  This cake plate / stand is illustrated to the right.
  • Twilight undecorated cake plate / stands were given out at the HLCCA 2023 conference, one per table.  There were approximately 4 dozen cake stands without the anniversary logo.
  • The following January (2022) FTC announced, “Our limited edition Pedestal Cake Plate made quite an impact when it debuted in the 85th anniversary color Twilight …  For fans of that piece, you’ll be thrilled to know it will soon be made in the following colors: White, Turquoise, Sunflower, Scarlet, Lapis, Meadow, and new 2022 color Peony.”
  • The pedestal cake plate was shown on the Peony shape sheet.  It wasn’t as lucky the following years as it was omitted on the Jade and Sky shape sheets.
  • During the HLCCA conference July 2024, the FTC representative discussed that this piece had a “short production period”, but did not say it was “discontinued”, hence the ??? as being discontinued.  I’ll leave that decision to you on how you would like to interpret it.
  • The tops of the cake plate is not a 12″ baking / pizza tray.  Check out the Baking / Pizza Tray page to see a comparison of the two.

Fun Fact – Daffodil (illustrated to the left) and Jade bases were sold at one of the factory tent sales.  These two colors were never produced with the matching top / tray.

Thank you to Steve and Donna Scallan for the use of their photo.

  • The two cake plates illustrated on either side were auctioned during the 2023 HLCCA conference.
