Pasta Bowl and Cheese Shaker Set – No longer in production

Discontinued – As of this release, it has not been officially discontinued. However, the sets have not been for sale on Macy’s website or in stores since the summer of 2015.

This set consist of the following pieces:
Pasta Bowl 12-1/2” (Item Number: 0964)
Cheese Shaker (Item Number: 0965)

Sets were produced in the following colors – Cobalt Blue, Turquoise, Sunflower, Tangerine, Scarlet, Evergreen, Ivory, Lemongrass, Paprika, Marigold, Flamingo, Lapis, Poppy.

Sets were NOT produced in the following colors – White, Black, Rose, Apricot, Yellow, Periwinkle Blue, Sea Mist Green, Lilac, Persimmon, Sapphire, Chartreuse, Pearl Gray, Juniper, Cinnabar, Plum, Shamrock, Peacock, Heather, Chocolate, Slate and all colors produced after Slate.

As the illustration to the left shows, these sets were exclusive and available “Only @ Macys”.

However, the illustration to the right shows that customers could purchase the pasta bowl or cheese shaker as individual pieces at HLC’s retail outlet stores.
During the HLC tent sales in 2018, first quality sets in the “Only @Macy’s” boxes were sold.

In 2007, HLC gave their salary employee’s a Scarlet pasta and cheese shaker set accented with a gold stripe around the rim of the bowl and around the shaker as shown in the illustration to the left. (Photo courtesy of Alex Silva)

It was NOT produced in the following colors – White, Black, Rose, Apricot, Yellow, Periwinkle Blue, Sea Mist Green, Lilac, Persimmon, Sapphire, Chartreuse, Pearl Gray, Juniper, Cinnabar, Plum, Peacock, Heather, Chocolate, Sage, Claret, Foundry, Daffodil, Mulberry and all colors produced after Mulberry.

*Shamrock and Slate shakers were not officially produced; however, they were produced by accident and sold at HLC’s retail outlet store.

This was exclusive to Macy’s.
The shaker holes are even in the shape of a star which is Macy’s logo.
Even though it was an exclusive, HLC sold the shaker by itself at their factory outlet stores and website.

Of all the Fiesta® pieces that use a rubber stopper, the cheese shaker uses the largest of the seven stopper sizes.

The illustration to the right, shows the different stoppers that are used with Fiesta® pieces and available in two colors (except size 5 in White).

Size 3 or 0 – early version salt/pepper shakers

The illustration to the left shows the difference between a Post 86 12-7/8” pasta bowl (right) and a Vintage 11-3/4” fruit bowl (left) which measures 11-5/16” diameter x 3” height.
The Vintage 11-3/4” fruit bowl fits nicely inside the Post 86 12-7/8” pasta bowl as shown in the illustration to the right.

Fun Fact –

When the graphics for the pasta sets were being done, someone made a slight error. A Paprika set (866 334) is showcased on the box, however in the information box on the front flap it states that the color is Scarlet (shown left). Yup, mistakes happen even at the “Mother Ship” (HLC/FTC) as some collectors call it.
