  • This plate replaced the bread and butter plate (0463) when it was discontinued at the end of 2014.
  • This item is the bread and butter size plate for the Fiesta® Bistro dinnerware line.
  • Foundry appetizer plates are sold as overruns at HLC/FTC retail outlet when the Skull and Vine or Trio of Happy Pumpkin designs are produced.
  • You will notice in the below illustration, that the appetizer plate (left) is designed in the Fiesta® Bistro style of dinnerware. It has a narrow rim and deep coupe bottom, which is unlike the concave look of the Fiesta® Post 86 bread and butter plate (right).

  • The Bistro salad plate, along with the small Bistro bowl and 10-1/2” Bistro dinner plate was originally released as part of the 3-piece Bistro set (1482).

  • In 2017, all three set pieces became available to buy individually through independent retailers only.
  • Foundry was added to the line in 2017. 
  • Like the other Fiesta® Bistro plates, this plate has a narrow rim and deep coupe bottom which is unlike the concave look of the Fiesta® Post 86 salad plate.
  • The Bistro style plates, (appetizer, salad, buffet and dinner) nest very nicely together as shown in the  illustration below.

*  This plate was originally introduced as a foodservice/healthcare item in 2008 and was called a pallet plate/healthcare plate, item number 0749.

  • In 2010, it became available as an exclusive Fiesta® piece to Kohl’s as the buffet plate with the same item number.
  • In January 2019, now available to all general retailers (as of 12/15/2018), was renamed as the Bistro buffet plate and again, with the same item number.
  • This item is the luncheon size plate to the Bistro line plates.
  • Plum and Black Bistro buffet plates were produced in limited quantities and sold at HLC’s factory retail outlet stores.
  • Considering this plate was the first piece of dinnerware released in this modern coupe shape (several years before the Fiesta® Bistro line was introduced). It is possible that the Fiesta® Bistro plates were based on this plate style.
  • In the below illustration, the buffet plate (left) is designed in the Fiesta® Bistro style of dinnerware. It has a narrow rim and deep coupe bottom which is unlike the concave look of the Fiesta® Post 86 luncheon plate (right).

Fun Fact –

  • June, 2024 FTC announced, “We’ve updated some of our item names to make shopping easier on our customers. They’re the same Fiesta dishes you know and love, just with new names that tell you a little more about the size of each item.”   
  • These plates were included in the name change.  Bistro Plates to Bistro Coupe Plates.
