Sets produced in the following colors – White, Black, Rose, Cobalt Blue, Yellow, Turquoise, Periwinkle Blue, Sea Mist Green, Persimmon, Chartreuse, Pearl Gray, Juniper, Cinnabar, Sunflower, Plum, Shamrock, Tangerine, Scarlet, Peacock, Heather, Evergreen, Ivory.

Sets were NOT produced in the following colors – Apricot, Lilac, Sapphire, Chocolate and all colors produced after Chocolate.

  • Juniper 3-piece mixing bowl sets were sold exclusively through Bloomingdale stores.
  • HLC discontinued production of these sets in Black, Cinnabar, Turquoise and Plum in 2008.
  • Mixing bowls are totally different from the baking bowls as shown in the illustration to the left.
  • The mixing bowl (left) has a flared rim unlike the baking bowl (right).

Mixing Bowl – Large a.k.a Multi-Purpose Bowl

Produced in the following colors – White, Black, Rose, Cobalt Blue, Yellow, Turquoise, Periwinkle Blue, Sea Mist Green, Persimmon, Chartreuse, Pearl Gray, Juniper, Cinnabar, Sunflower, Plum, Shamrock, Tangerine, Scarlet, Peacock, Heather, Evergreen, Ivory, Chocolate, Lemongrass, Paprika, Marigold, Flamingo, Lapis, Poppy, Slate, Mulberry, Meadow, Butterscotch, Twilight, Peony.

It was NOT produced in the following colors – Apricot (see note below), Lilac, Sapphire, Sage, Claret, Foundry, and all colors produced after Foundry.

  • This is the same bowl that is used for the base of the 70-oz. covered casserole (0495).  NOTE: Therefore, you will find Apricot bowls for sale as mixing bowls.  They were the base to the covered casserole and lost it’s lid.  
  • The large mixing bowl was renamed the multi-purpose bowl when the bakeware line was introduced in 2008.
  • Chocolate large mixing bowls were produced and sold via HLC retail outlet stores.
  • HLC discontinued production of this bowl in Black, Cinnabar, Turquoise and Plum in 2008.
  • Although these bowls were discontinued as mixing bowls, they were still being produced in limited quantities as the base for the 70 oz. covered casserole (0495).
  • HLC brought Black, Turquoise, and Plum back into production around April 2010.
  • HLC announced in December 2013 that this item would not be available in Black, White, and Plum.
  • Like before, these bowls were produced in limited quantities as the base for the 70 oz. covered casserole (0495).
  • Sometime in late 2017 or early 2018 HLC brought back these bowls and they are an exclusive to their retail outlet stores and website. 
  • August 2024 FTC announced that they were “retiring” this piece in all colors. I’m not sure if future colors will still become available as an exclusive to FTC retail outlets and website or not.  Time will tell.  
  • Raspberry large mixing bowls are known to exist.

  • HLC discontinued production of this bowl in Black, Cinnabar, Turquoise and Plum in 2008.
  • In 2012 – JC Penney started selling the medium bowl as an exclusive in the limited colors of Turquoise, Sunflower, Tangerine, Scarlet, Lemongrass and Flamingo.
  • Marigold medium bowls were produced in very limited quantities in 2012.
  • Sapphire bowls are known to exist. A Sapphire medium mixing bowl sold at Strawser Auction in March 2016 for $300.00.  Another one sold in June 2024 for $1,200.00 + buyers premium. (Photo courtesy of Strawser Auctions)

  • HLC discontinued production of this bowl in Black, Cinnabar, Turquoise and Plum in 2008.
  • Occasionally you will find a “double backstamp” as illustrated to the left (right). This is when there is an embossed or incised backstamp and then an ink stamp applied as well to the piece. This does not change the value of the piece.
  • The illustration to the right shows how nicely the three different size mixing bowls nest within each other.
