  • Even though the trivet was introduced in 2001 you won’t find it on the Fiesta® shape sheets until the introduction of Peacock (2005).
  • The illustration to the left is the HLC ink stamp for the 6″ trivet.
  • The illustration to the right is the newer (2020 on) ink stamp for the 6″ trivet. (Photo courtesy of Kate Jackson Fierke)
  • Note the wording on the newer backstamp changed from “Lead Free” to “Lead Safe”.
  • Ohara Kaki glazed trivets were made for the 2003 HLCCA conference. They were numbered 1 through 10 and had J. M. Wells III signature on the back. This one was from the Becky Turner collection which sold at Strawser Auctions in August 2014 for $450.00. (Ohara Kaki photos courtesy of Strawser Auction)
  • In the mid to late 1990’s, HLC wanted to expand the Fiesta® brand, so they contracted with outside companies to produce official Fiesta® licensed products.
  • Sometime in the late 1990’s to early 2000’s, Copco one of these licensees manufactured a trivet made from wood with a 6” diameter ceramic hot plate. A disk pitcher and teapot shape were tested as a design.
  • The teapot shape was the shape that was produced. It was tested in the Fiesta® colors of Rose, Periwinkle Blue. As shown in the illustration to the right, Periwinkle Blue was the color choice. (Photo courtesy of Sally Masterbray)
  • The illustration on either side shows a prototype Periwinkle Blue trivet that sold at Strawser Auction in November 2022 for $350.00 + buyers premium.  (Photos courtesy of Strawser Auction)
  • The notation on the back of the trivet says, “Prototype 1st pc made for Copco trivet  4/23/97 JP” (Jonathan Parry’s initials).
  • The illustration to the left shows a disk pitcher prototype trivet. In Mark Gonzalez’s book “Collecting Fiesta® Lu-Ray & Other Colorware” (page 79) he shows this same style trivet but with a Persimmon Dancing Lady trivet as the inserted hot plate.
  • In 2014 Cambridge SilverSmith™ introduced a set of five nesting silicone ring trivets as illustrated to the left. They measured approx. 4”, 5”, 6”, 7” and 8” diameters and the colors from large to small are Scarlet, Tangerine, Lemongrass, Turquoise, and Cobalt. (Photo courtesy of Dana Heath-Thomas)
  • In 2018 Thirstystone® introduced 7-7/8” square trivet. They came in a variety of colors and designs and have a cork style backing as illustrated to the right.
