- The clocks were introduced in 1993 and sold through J.C. Penney stores.
- Over 200 Chartreuse clocks were produced in error. Long story short, J. C. Penney used the EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) to place orders with HLC. Minor problem one, J. C. Penney forgot to note in their computer that Chartreuse clocks would not be available. Minor problem two, no one at HLC caught that the order had been placed. So, when HLC’s production department received the order, they produced the clocks and shipped them out. Yup, mistakes happen, even at HLC.
- Juniper clocks were sold exclusively through J.C. Penney.
- Clocks were taken out of production for a period and reintroduced in 1996 for general release.
- In 1996, clocks with a 60th-anniversary decal were only produced in the following colors –
White, Rose, Apricot, Yellow, Turquoise, Periwinkle Blue, Sea Mist Green and Persimmon. - The header picture (above) shows the 60th-anniversary version on the right side. A close up of the logo is illustrated to the right.
