- The lid is slotted to accommodate the ladle.
- The tureen base, lid, and base plate were produced at The Hall China Company, which The Homer Laughlin China Company bought in 2010.
- The handle for the ladle was produced at HLC.
- Marigold soup tureens were produced between April 1, 2011, through September 1, 2012 (for 75 weeks) in celebration of the 75th anniversary of Fiesta®.
- The tureen came with a certificate of authenticity. If you look closely at the certificate, you will notice that “Certificate of Authenticity” was misspelled as “Certficate.”
- Even though Marigold was the only color that tureens were produced in, a Tangerine tureen bowl was seen at the Hall China Company during an HLCCA conference tour.
- Each tureen is numbered on the base of the tureen as shown in the illustration to the left. At first, HLC planned on making 16,000 tureens. However, that was later changed to 10,000, or the cutoff date of September 1, 2012, whichever occurred first. As of July 2012, Dave Conley, the former director of sales and marketing at HLC advised the attendees of the HLCCA conference that “…around 4,400 units sold and another 500-600 currently on hand.” (Homer Laughlin China Collectors Association (HLCCA) quarterly club magazine, The Dish (Vol. 15 No 1, Fall 2012).
- The below illustrations show the line of production of the tureen base.
