Produced ONLY in the following colors – White, Black, Rose, Apricot, Yellow, Turquoise, Periwinkle Blue, Persimmon, Chartreuse, Juniper
- These were designed by China Specialties, produced by HLC and were exclusive to China Specialties.
- Lilac signs were almost made. The original mold had to be retooled to make the rings on the plate stand out more, so the window to have Lilac made was just missed.
- Cobalt Blue and Pearl Gray were sampled but never put into production. There are an unknown number of sampled decorated Pearl Gray shelf signs.
- August 2013, HLC sold Black blanks at their retail outlet store and called them Fiesta® counter plaques.
- Occasionally blanks would pop up at the factory tent sales.
- Thank you to Ed and Wendy Volker for allowing me to invade their shelf sign collection for some of these photos.
- The illustration to the left shows how China Specialties decorated these signs. On the back is a short history of Fiesta® and information on the color glaze that the sign was produced in.
- The illustration to the right is a closer look at the back text.
- These have an embossed Fiesta® backstamp as illustrated to the right.
- The Yellow version of the shelf sign can be found in three different colorways as illustrated to the left.
- The bottom left version is the colorway that was being sold on China Specialties website in 2019.
- There were 334 Periwinkle shelf signs decorated with Turquoise information on the back in error. China Specialties advertised in their quarterly newsletter, “Fiesta® Collector’s Quarterly”, that if you ordered $150.00 in signs, you would receive one of these “mistake” signs for free. (Issue 23 – Summer 1997) – Illustrated to the right.
- 1500 +/- were produced in each color. The last sign authorized by China Specialties was Juniper. And they were released to the “Fiesta® Collector’s Quarterly” membership in conjunction with the release of Bob and Sharon Huxford book “Collector’s Encyclopedia of Fiesta® – 10th Edition”.
