  • A double backstamp (embossed and ink), as illustrated to the left, does not increase or decrease the value of the bowl.
  • The first version of this bowl had only three of the art deco styled pillars as shown in the illustration to the right. (Photo courtesy of Ken Clardy)
  • The second version added three more pillars but with only two tiers vs the three tiers in the first and final versions.
  • The final version added three tiers to all six pillars.
  • The illustration to the left shows how three of the six pillars are attached to the dry foot (example on lower right pillar) and the other three pillars are not (example on lower left pillar).
  • In 1997, 500 presentation bowls were made in a Raspberry glaze (color code 4465) celebrating the 500 millionth piece of Fiesta® made. The bowls were numbered 1 through 500. Bowls numbered 1 and 2 are on display at HLC. Number 3 was given to the late Joseph M Wells Jr. who was chairman of the board of HLC at the time. Bowls were given to HLC shareholders, as well as the governor of West Virginia, the Smithsonian Institute, Regis Philbin, and even to Make a Wish recipient Candy Haugen of Proctorville, Ohio.
  • Fifteen bowls were donated to three local charities to auction off to benefit local scholarship funds. These sold for approximately $5,000 to $7,000 each.
  • HLC donated an additional one to the HLCCA to auction at their 2010 conference. That bowl sold for $5,300. The remainder of the bowls are stored at HLC.
  • A few private collectors have sold their bowls on the secondary market. Through the years they have come up for auction and have sold from about $2,000 to $5,300. (Raspberry bowl photo courtesy of Denyse Wentland)
  • Each year, since 1995, the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association (ELHSAA) holds an auction in June which “lends support to the Alumni Association/Education & Scholarship Fund”. The Homer Laughlin China Company (1995-present), The Hall China Company (1995-present), W.C. Bunting Co. (1999-present) and the W.C. Bunting Co./Commercial Decal of Ohio, Inc. companies (2016-2017), all support the organization by donating 12 or 24 limited edition pieces for ELHSAA to auction off. Below is a list of the quantity and colors that were donated in this specific piece.
