It was NOT produced in the following colors – Sapphire, Foundry.

  • When the deep-dish pie baker was first released, it was introduced as an exclusive through the Betty Crocker catalog.
  • It was later released to general retailers in 1995.
  • Chartreuse and Juniper deep dish bakers were sold exclusively through Betty Crocker.
  • HLC announced in March 2013 that this item would not be available in White, Black, Plum or Lemongrass.
  • February 2017, HLC brought White and Lemongrass back into production.
  • In April 2017 HLC added Shamrock and Claret to the out of production list.
  • Sage was added to the list in March 2018, then Ivory in March 2019.
  • With the introduction of Twilight in 2021 – FTC added Cobalt Blue and Slate to the out of production line up.

  • In the 8-8-2023 shape sheet FTC notes that this set would only be produced in the following colors – White, Turquoise, Scarlet, Lapis, Daffodil, Peony, and Jade.

  • With the introduction of Sky in 2024, it was added to the production line up making 8 colors available.

  • Clear glazed are known to exist. Instead of applying a color glaze, HLC will sometimes apply clear glaze to the bisque piece to obtain more of a natural/neutral look.

  • Don’t be surprised if you have multiple deep dish pie bakers in your cabinets and notice they may not have the same backstamp. Since the deep-dish pie baker was introduced four different style backstamps have been documented. I’m not sure in which order they were released, but this is my guess by the date codes.

  • This is the medium of the three different size pie bakers (center baker). They nest together nicely as illustrated to the left.

  • HLC announced in March 2013 that this item would not be available in White, Black, Plum or Lemongrass.
  • February 2017, HLC brought White and Lemongrass back into production.
  • In April 2017 HLC added Shamrock and Claret to the out of production list.
  • This is the smallest of the three different size pie bakers. 
  • In the illustration to the left from bottom to the top is the deep dish pie baker – medium pie baker – small pie baker.
